2nd Love Lula Beauty Box

Hello again, the 2nd beauty box was just as good it came with 5 items and I have to say I think this Maggie Anne nail varnish is my most favourite nail varnish ever!! I absolutely love the nude colour and it has a bit if a gel effect. It lasts maximum without chipping for 3 days which is the only down side but other than that it’s still really good. I haven’t had the chance to use any of the others yet but I know I’ll like them especially the Madara Micellar Water which is supposed to be really good for removing makeup.

  • Micellar Water £14* 100ml

  • Botanical Bodywash £8.50* 100ml

  • Skin Food £10.95* 10ml

  • Natural Marula Replenishing Face Oil £9.50* 15ml

  • Maggie Anne Nail Polish £10.50 11ml

1st Love Lula Beauty Box

I’ve always wanted to subscribe to a beauty box and of course I wanted it to be organic. I was super happy when I found Love Lula check them out here: https://www.lovelula.com

Love Lula sell a range of items on their website from shampoo, makeup to body products there’s so much to choose from. The subscription box I chose was for 3 months and cost £37.50 which I thought was a little expensive at first but the products I received were definitely worth it. The box came around the 2nd week of the month and I was so excited to see what I got. I was quite pleased that there was no makeup in there even though it is a beauty box beauty is much more than just makeup also I don’t really wear that much.

There was between 4-5 products in each box, some were full sized and most were sample sized but not too small. Each box came with a discount code off the products in the box. So I’ve tried to find the prices of each product too if you want to see roughly how much the box equates to.

Here goes my first Love Lula beauty box…

    Homemade Oat Facials

I have two recipes to use depending on your skin type, I’ve always been interested in natural homemade alternatives and these are both great.

    1) Best for oily skin
    2 tbsp crushed oats
    1 tsp bicarbonate soda
Enough water to make a paste.
Mix together, apply to the face then wash off after 6 mins using warm water and pat dry.

    2) Best for dry skin
    2 tbsp crushed oats
    1 tsp organic honey
Enough milk to make it runny.
Mix together, apply to the face, leave on for 10 mins then wash off using warm water and pat dry.

I would recommend to use at least twice a week for best results. After using these facials your face will feel free and refreshed because your skin has absorbed in all that goodness. Once you’ve washed off your face use a light oil such as almond oil to keep your skin soft and moisturized.

*You know it’s good for your skin if you can eat it too 🙂

    The Body Shop: gift bag

I went to The Body Shop for a special event and received a gift bag worth £40, they had complimentary drinks and canapé style food which was obviously my favourite 🙂 but also the staff were on hand to give skincare advice and explain more about the products. People were getting massages too! There was a presentation mainly hosted by dhdn iebdui which was so informative and gave a better insight into the type of products The Body Shop produce. I’m still interested in natural/organic items which is why I like this particular store. One thing I know for sure is that they do care about where their ingredients come from.

You did have to spend £15 or more to receive the goody bag, my favourites are:

I was definitely grateful for the free items however if I got the chance to make any changes 😉 it would have been nice if the Honey Bronze was available in different shades that would suit my skin likewise with the Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick

Overall it was a great evening and I definitely enjoyed myself.

    The Truth…

    About Cancer.

You known when you watch something and you feel totally inspired to change the world?? That’s how I felt after watching The Truth About Cancer!! I really looked forward to the 9 docu-series every day and set time aside to watch the video’s and learn so much about our bodies that no one else would ever dare teach us. The episodes really express hope that anything is possible.

It was interesting to listen to the ‘survivor’ stories and get more of an insight into the pharmaceutical industry. Doctors are not taught about nutrition and only know to advise/cure someone with medicinal items like drugs and pills, to be honest it is not fault because it’s how they have been educated and they don’t know better. It’s crazy how the world is when you think about it, you try to live a healthier lifestyle but them something else comes along that causes your body harm.

I know that some people are skeptical to trying new things but I would definitely recommend buying or watching these videos because you will be aware of all the possibilities of curing cancer and you will really appreciate the commitment of everyone who took part. I realise I should have posted this earlier but do check out their website 🙂 https://thetruthaboutcancer.com

I do enjoy watching documentaries these days because I am constantly learning new things and expanding my brain to lots of things I never new existed, it’s such a great feeling when you watch something and actually want to make positive changes in the world and that’s why I’m sharing it with you.

    Why you should start journaling

It’s a great way to recollect your thoughts and feelings throughout the day, journaling allows you to read your thoughts back at a later date and understand how you felt at different moments in your life. You can gain confidence within yourself and also trust that when looking back on your words you’ll have achieved a lot and grown into a better person.

It doesn’t have to be in anything fancy just a simple notebook and pen will do.

‘You should write your feelings down when your feeling emotional to capture that particular moment and keep it in your mind to treasure so that when you read over it you can remember exactly how you felt’

    Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

I have never used a banana as an ingredient for baking because I’m not that keen on the strong taste however, after making these muffins I might start experimenting with bananas more as a substitute for other ingredients. To be honest the taste of the banana is barely there but the muffin itself is much more filling and heavier when eating which I think is good because it really fills you up. Also it’s got fruit in it so it’s somewhat healthy 🙂

    Makes 6-7

    50g Butter
    1 Egg
    85g Castor sugar
    110g Self-raising flour
    1/2 tsp Baking powder
    1 tbsp Milk
    1 ripe Banana
    50g Milk chocolate chips

    1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 and prepare 7 muffins cases on a tray.

    2. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and beat until smooth or use an electric whisk.

    3. Evenly spoon the mixture between the muffin cases and bake in the oven for 25 minutes (mine were in a little longer, hence the extra golden top)

    4. Take out from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

    Just Me

People are always afraid of what’s different…

I will forever LOVE my natural hair, even though it’s not really different it isn’t very commonly celebrated or appreciated as much as I think it should be. I just want it to grow long and healthy, maybe inspire others to go natural too.

Regardless of what your hair type is it’s the different things about you that make you special and all you can do is love yourself.

    Oreo Stuffed Cookies

I found it on the BBC food website but halved the entire recipe as I didn’t have that many Oreo biscuits. Also the recipe included some chocolate chips which I didn’t add because for me it would have been too sweet. I really enjoyed baking these because I’ve never baked with a biscuit before but when biting into the cookie you get an Oreo surprise.

    220g softened butter
    85g light brown sugar
    110g granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    400g plain flour
    Pinch of salt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 pack of Oreo’s

1.Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 and cover to baking trays with parchment paper.

    2. Cream together the butter and sugar until pale. Add in the eggs and sugar until well combined.

    3. In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking powder then slowly add to the wet ingredients.

    4. Use a tbsp to scoop out some of the dough and place on the bottom of an Oreo biscuit get another tbsp of dough and cover the top of the biscuit, gently squeeze together until the Oreo is completely enclosed within the dough.

    5. Place onto the baking tray and repeat until all the biscuits are covered. Leave a good amount of space between each biscuit as they will expand. Bake in the oven for 10- 15 minutes and leave to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Best served warm which means you can taste them straight away! Also Happy International Women’s Day image
