  • Music sets off those positive feelings in your body.
  • Emotional music can be helpful when times are difficult. Why not make a sad playlist?
  • Music builds connections with friends especially when you like the same genre. 
  • Music can help to reduce your anxiety, your body allows you to build a connection with the song when you listen to the words.

Holy Shift!Β 

So today I have a quote from the book ‘Holy Shift’ it’s one of those meditation books that have a quote for you to read every day. I haven’t read it in a while but I looked through the other day and saw this quote:

When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself:

I do not know what anything, including this, means. And so I do not know how to respond to it.  And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now.

By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know,  mother Guide Whom God has given you will speak to you.

He will take His rightful place in your awareness the instant you abandon it, and offer it to Him. 

I really love the words used in this paragraph and also the meaning is quite beautiful as a way to live my life β™₯ β™₯

Crying is GOOD!? 😒 

Hey everyone, this has to be one of the most interesting things I have read recently even though I kind of knew already, it was still very useful to understand why and how. 

A professor of pharmaceuticals in the 1970s named Dr. William Frey discovered that the main function of emotional tears (when you feel sad) πŸ˜” is to help the body to recover from a stressful situation by releasing lots of hormones and other proteins. Dr. William found out that tears form to rid the body of excess hormones (stress hormones) this is why after we cry, we usually feel much better like a weight has been lifted. Tears = less stress

This is literally the best motto, mantra or saying you can live by. I’ve been recently trying to improve myself overall and practice being the best version possible and these words ‘thoughts become things’are really helping 😊 it is actually scientifically proven that having a positive attitude and mindset can improve your wellbeing and life because you are surrounding your mind with good thoughts and not allowing negativity to get to you. Many well known people actually lived by this and they are well known and famous today for there success. Throughout your day I challenge you to always remember ‘thoughts become things’ and see the amazing changes that take place in your life!!

Confidence for 2017

Hi βœ‹ so this year is almost over and can you believe how quickly 2016 has gone by? A lot has happened this year and I am so excited for 2017 because I know it will be a great year for me to succeed and achieve many things. 

The main thing to remember is to be grateful for everything that you’ve been blessed with and look forward to what the future holds.

Here are some tips to take into the new year:

  • Never give up on your hopes and dreams, even if you are not where you wish to be in your spare time do creative activities that will nourish your soul.
  • Keep the focus away from yourself, focus on other people more and actually make eye contact when listening to someone is talking soon your fears of communication will disappear.
  • Be reliant on yourself, have some time alone and get to know your true self by letting go of who you think you should be. 
  • Don’t be afraid, just remember that you can achieve anything you put your mind too. Failure and embarrassment always mean you are making progress and overcoming fears therefore one step closer to your goals. 
  • Step out of your comfort zone, try new activities and speak to different people.
  • Always forgive yourself, don’t let things if the past get you down because no one is perfect and you can learn from your mistakes.
  • Lastly believe in yourself and be original.

Be Yourself

I always feel the need to wear make up when I’m going out especially to work and university but some days I just feel like I should be make up free, not to copy Alicia Keys or anything but just to give my skin a break and let it breathe. I have been a fan of makeup ever since I was in secondary school wearing pink and black eyeshadow :/ sometimes separately and sometimes together. I can actually remember this girl in my class saying it looked really nice and I felt so cool. I also remember doing my liquid liner so so neat and I never had to touch my eyebrows. Now, though I still adore makeup I always still prefer the more natural look, who knows maybe one day I’ll be into contouring, high light and the rest. I’m all about the concealer, dark brows, mascara and liquid liner πŸ˜‰

​I think I wear makeup to cover up specific areas like the dark circles around my eyes but also to enhance my other features like the shape of my eyes and eyebrows. Wearing makeup is great in my opinion but it definitely shouldn’t be a mask and you should always make sure that you are just as confident without it.

Lets not forget that we are all beautiful ❀

Self Love

Simple things you can do to achieve self love.

When I Tried to Make a Swiss Role #Fail

So I thought it would be really easy but I was surprised with my turnout. I’m not sure if it was not whisked enough or may be too much and the mixture was kind of stiff, then after I took it from the oven the cake wasn’t moist or soft enough to role at ease without it cracking along the sides. 

Baking is so much fun and it is all about trial and error so if it doesn’t turn out amazing the first time try again until you get it right or are at least proud of what you have made/done. This kind of applies to any situation in life basically never give up and keep trying.

I will definitely try to bake a swiss roll again but I think I’ll use a different recipe πŸ™‚ Happy Baking!!

A Little Bean Appreciation

Sometimes you’ve just got to take the time to really appreciate the beauty in nature. These broad beans are pink and purple they almost look magical, the colours are so pigmented and really stand out. The broad beans look so pretty and are very nutritious. Life can get really busy at times so always make the effort to just sit and appreciate the wonders that surround you, be it a broad bean, other foods, furniture, technology or the trees outside πŸ™‚

I’m not sure what dish these beans will be apart of, maybe a stew, soup or used in a salad!! They are locally grown too in an allotment which is always good…
