Chocolate 🍫 

Hello again, hope you are all well 😊

Firstly, cocoa is not the same as cacao, cacao is the bean which comes from the Theobrona tree.

When we think of chocolate we think of cocoa which comes from cacao beans after they’ve been processed or roasted changing the quality and more importantly nutrient content, diminishing some health benefits. 

Flavanols (contain health benefits) are found in chocolate and usually removed by manufactures because of the strong bitter taste, therefore processed sugars and fillers are added to ‘improve’ the taste. 

Cacao is grown in many warmer climate countries around the world including Africa, when choosing your chocolate once in a while opt for fair-trade or organic bars and support the farmers.

1. Speak your truth always 

2. Don’t be a social chameleon 

3. Don’t apologise for the things (or people) you like/love

4. Don’t lie to others about your truths

5. Show you quirkiness to the world 

6. Stop caring what another person is thinking about 

7. Perfectionism does not exist 

8. Don’t dim your light πŸ’‘ 

9. MY FAVOURITE, do not avoid social situations even if you’re a proud introvert!!!

Why Music is So Awesome 🎢 

Hello everybody, I’m going to tell you why music is good with these scientifically proven reasons…

  • Music sets off those positive feelings in your body.
  • Emotional music can be helpful when times are difficult. Why not make a sad playlist?
  • Music builds connections with friends especially when you like the same genre. 
  • Music can help to reduce your anxiety, your body allows you to build a connection with the song when you listen to the words. 
  • Music is AWESOME, you can literally listen to it at any time of the day loud or quiet and the best thing is to get your hair brush and dance πŸ’ƒ πŸ’ƒ

Holy Shift!Β 

So today I have a quote from the book ‘Holy Shift’ it’s one of those meditation books that have a quote for you to read every day. I haven’t read it in a while but I looked through the other day and saw this quote:

When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself:

I do not know what anything, including this, means. And so I do not know how to respond to it.  And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now.

By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know,  mother Guide Whom God has given you will speak to you.

He will take His rightful place in your awareness the instant you abandon it, and offer it to Him. 

I really love the words used in this paragraph and also the meaning is quite beautiful as a way to live my life β™₯ β™₯

Crying is GOOD!? 😒 

Hey everyone, this has to be one of the most interesting things I have read recently even though I kind of knew already, it was still very useful to understand why and how. 

A professor of pharmaceuticals in the 1970s named Dr. William Frey discovered that the main function of emotional tears (when you feel sad) πŸ˜” is to help the body to recover from a stressful situation by releasing lots of hormones and other proteins. Dr. William found out that tears form to rid the body of excess hormones (stress hormones) this is why after we cry, we usually feel much better like a weight has been lifted. Tears = less stress

Be Yourself

I always feel the need to wear make up when I’m going out especially to work and university but some days I just feel like I should be make up free, not to copy Alicia Keys or anything but just to give my skin a break and let it breathe. I have been a fan of makeup ever since I was in secondary school wearing pink and black eyeshadow :/ sometimes separately and sometimes together. I can actually remember this girl in my class saying it looked really nice and I felt so cool. I also remember doing my liquid liner so so neat and I never had to touch my eyebrows. Now, though I still adore makeup I always still prefer the more natural look, who knows maybe one day I’ll be into contouring, high light and the rest. I’m all about the concealer, dark brows, mascara and liquid liner πŸ˜‰

​I think I wear makeup to cover up specific areas like the dark circles around my eyes but also to enhance my other features like the shape of my eyes and eyebrows. Wearing makeup is great in my opinion but it definitely shouldn’t be a mask and you should always make sure that you are just as confident without it.

Lets not forget that we are all beautiful ❀
