Be mindful with food ๐Ÿด

Hello everyone, here are some tips to help you make better food choices.

1. Keep a food diary and make a note of everything you eat. This is a great idea because it allows you to go back and see why you ate certain foods and particular times in Life. Were you emotionally eating?

2. Do food swaps, for example switch the chocolate bar for some peanuts or replace the packet of crisps for popcorn and slowly incorporate more fruits into your day. 

3. Be you eat a snack do something else, drink a cup of water… Are you still hungry? Also try reading, going for a walk or listening to music to distract the mind. 

Always ask yourself (especially when snacking) ‘am I hungry?’ The main aim is always to be mindful before eating and making sure you actually enjoy the food rather than just biting and chewing ๐Ÿ‘

3 Ways to Naturally Detox Your Bodyย 

Hi everyone, these following tips will help to strengthen your digestive system and boost your immune system which is definitely ideal for this super cold wintery season.

1. Drink warm lemon water in the morning and throughout the day because it will help to flush out the toxins. Add cinnamon or cayenne pepper for added flavour.

2. Try dry skin brushing to support your lymphatic system (the bodies sewage system)

– use a dry brush before you have a wash
– always brush towards the heart
– begin at the feet and work your way upwards brushing in circular motions
– using circular motions over the stomach respects the direction of digestion and encourages detoxification
– afterwards have a bath or shower

3. Drinking herbal tea ๐Ÿต (without sugar) be sure to let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes then consume hot or cold

Some teas to try:
– nettle or chamomile for inflammation
– senna, flaxseed or aloe Vera for constipation
– burdock or red clover to cleanse the blood
– milk thistle or dandelion for liver support

It’s so great to have a detox schedule that is natural and beneficial to the body, do it 4 times per year for each season to help boost the immune system ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

Inversion Method For Hair Growth

Hey everyone, so this method is known to increase blood flow to the scalp and stimulate the hair follicles which results in faster hair growth!! I would recommend using this method for no more than 2 weeks at a time to see results ๐Ÿ˜Š

What to do? 

– rub oil onto your scalp
– invert your head (I hung my head between my knees)
– stay in this position for 4 minutes before slowly rising
– results should show unto 1 inch of growth after the week

*Obviously be careful when tipping your head upside down and if you begin to feel dizzy slowly rise and reduce the time.

Remember to measure your hair length before starting and don’t overuse the method because it won’t be as effective.

Sometimes getting up early in the morning can be so difficult and even just mornings in general, I’ve come up with a few ideas to get you all feeling positive and great about starting your day ๐Ÿ™Œ 

– Relax your body 

– Focus on 10 deep breaths 

– Listen to ‘happy’ music

– Do some stretches 

– Don’t check your phone too early 

– Make something delicious for your breakfast

Tips for the best sleep ever ๐Ÿ˜ดย 

Sleeping arrangements have changed slightly for me at home and there’s a few things I actually miss about sleeping in my own room, I was just sitting on the sofa and thought of a few things that will ensure you get the best sleep ever!! 

1. Try not to eat at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed, because your body will be resting and won’t get the chance to digest the food properly.

2. Have a nice hot drink before bed preferably a herbal drink, my favourite is chamomile (though I don’t drink it every night).

3. Write down your thoughts or just hit down a few points and be reflective, then write down 3 things you want to achieve tomorrow for example:

– do some exam revision
– complete a home workout
– find a work placement 

4. Sleep in your favourite pyjamas and on fresh clean sheets, I think it’ll just make you feel better overall. 

5. Have a teddy in your bed, it may seem childish but it made us all happy as children so why not do it now!

My Baking Essentials and Tips

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you’ve all had a great week ๐Ÿ™‚ I sure did. I actually wanted to do this a long time ago but it’s better late than never right?

I love baking, cooking and food in general so it’s always great to find equipment or tips to make things easier, here are my top 5 essentials/tips!!

1. A spatula: whatever you are baking/making a spatula is the best thing to use to make sure you scrape out every last bit of the mixture.

2. Softened butter: remember to take the butter out of the fridge at least 15 minutes before baking.
Most recipes require the butter to be at room temperature, this makes it so much easier when it comes to creaming the butter and sugar.

3. Baking shelf/cupboard: dedicated to your baking fillings and toppings, this way you won’t be searching around the kitchen for anything, you’ll go straight to that cupboard.

4. Recipe notebook: a notebook where you can jot down your ideas and it’s all in one place.

5. A hand held whisk: even though I like mixing by hand, when you want to cream the butter and sugar together until pale/light/creamy/fluffy an electronic whisk does the job very well.

Tips to help you trust in the Universe

Sometimes you’ve just got to trust in the Universe when life gets difficult, surrender yourself and simply learn to trust that things will be okay.

At first it may seem a bit hard to understand how, but in those moments when you need help or guidance the most just stay patient because the Universe is on your side.

– Realise the Universe is in you, try not to think about a distant external source because our strongest, most powerful connection is within us.

– Leave what is stopping you from moving up, let go of thinking that the Universe will automatically ‘fix’ situations for you and stop doubting yourself because anything is possible when you stop limiting your true potential.

– The Universe will ‘serve’ you but not always satisfy you, imagine you were just given a place at university/college it would be great but you would not get that true satisfaction as opposed to working hard and earning your place which would be much more rewarding.

– Sometimes it’s a gift not getting what you want, you may have to take an entirely different route or approach to what you had imagined but it’s usually the journey that has made you a stronger person.

– It’s all about the power of LOVE, basically the best way to trust in the Universe is to trust yourself.
