Here are a few tips:

1. Stop picking your spots

2. Use an oil cleanser no more than once a week

3. Make a homemade face mask for combination skin

4. Use a gentle face wash or soap, the less chemicals to aggravate your skin.

5. Exfoliate your skin again no more than once a week

6. Raw honey face masks are known to settle inflammation and have antibacterial properties

The new ‘cure’ for acne?Β 

Hello everyone 😊 I think we all, both girls and guys have experienced acne in their lives, so it’s definitely nothing to be disheartened about even if you still have experiences in your adult life (or near that time of the month πŸ˜‰).

Generally acne can be caused by a number of things but the main thing is that’s it’s an inflammatory condition. Often caused by a build up of bacteria and dead skin either under the skin or on the surface. So below I’ve listed some potential causes and even tips!! 

Wheat and Gluten: some people are gluten intolerant which can cause general inflammation in the body. It would be wise to get an allergy test if you have symptoms.

Sugar: try to get your sources from minimally unprocessed foods like raw honey, dates, raisins and fruits all within moderation*

Dairy: often considered an inflammatory food also increasing mucus production and disrupting digestion.

Omega6 fatty acids: these are easily found in modern western diets and become inflammatory if not balanced by good amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.

Alcohol: always a BIG NO NO. Very little documented health benefits.

Stress: when we stress out, our bodies produce even more cortisol* and testosterone often causing increased sebum production and breakouts.

Exercise: everyone knows that when you exercise and sweat your body releases happy chemicals. Sweating is good for the skin increasing blood flow and balancing electrolytes, warming the skin and allowing clogged pores to be released.

Hygiene: something which can always be improved. Try washing your hands more, touch your face less and use clean bathroom and bedroom items.

Is your anxiety getting in the way?Β 

Hello everyone, I’m sure we all deal with anxiety from time to time depending on the occasion or situation we all experience times in life when we feel nervous or experience self doubt. 

When you begin to experience anxious feelings or thoughts find a safe, comfortable place to sit, close your eyes and focus solely on your breathing. 

Your breathing should be deep and slow, in through the nostrils….. out through the mouth.

Self ConfidenceΒ 

It’s been a short while ☺ but I’m back!! 

Self confidence is something that develops over time and it may appear quicker in some than others. But don’t worry we’ll all reach a stage in our life when we feel completely confident in ourselves and we just accept (not settle) our bodies, personality, life etc… 

Everyone experiences days where we second guess ourselves and feel as though we are not able to complete a task but it’s the struggles in life that lead us to the fantastic person we become. Everyone’s path is different so never compare yourself β™₯ 

Here are some few tips to instantly help you feel more confident:

1. Focus on yourself 

2. Don’t worry about embarrassment or failure 

3. Step out of your comfort zone (no matter how scared you are)

4. Always forgive yourself, don’t put yourself down about bad/negative mistakes forgive yourself and move on 

5. Believe that you are the best

1. Speak your truth always

4. Don’t lie to others about your truths

5. Show you quirkiness to the world 

6. Stop caring what another person is thinking about 

7. Perfectionism does not exist

Be mindful with food πŸ΄

Hello everyone, here are some tips to help you make better food choices.

1. Keep a food diary and make a note of everything you eat. This is a great idea because it allows you to go back and see why you ate certain foods and particular times in Life. Were you emotionally eating?

2. Do food swaps, for example switch the chocolate bar for some peanuts or replace the packet of crisps for popcorn and slowly incorporate more fruits into your day. 

3. Be you eat a snack do something else, drink a cup of water… Are you still hungry? Also try reading, going for a walk or listening to music to distract the mind. 

Always ask yourself (especially when snacking) ‘am I hungry?’ The main aim is always to be mindful before eating and making sure you actually enjoy the food rather than just biting and chewing πŸ‘

So today I have a quote from the book ‘Holy Shift’ it’s one of those meditation books that have a quote for you to read every day. I haven’t read it in a while but I looked through the other day and saw this quote:

When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself:

I do not know what anything, including this, means. And so I do not know how to respond to it.  And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now.

By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know,  mother Guide Whom God has given you will speak to you.

He will take His rightful place in your awareness the instant you abandon it, and offer it to Him. 

I really love the words used in this paragraph and also the meaning is quite beautiful as a way to live my life β™₯ β™₯
