Turmeric Face Mask

Hello again ☺ I’m not 100% sure if I’ve posted a turmeric face mask recipe before I just thought it is so relevant now that the weather is getting warmer. Nobody wants dull, lifeless looking skin and this face mask will give you the opposite: bright, glowing skin!! I know it is traditional for many cultures and it’s one of my favourites because it is homemade and the ingredients are so easy to purchase.

Ingredients
1 tbsp turmeric
1 tsp plain flour
1/3 tsp bicarbonate soda
2 tbsp lemon juice or water

So you literally mix all the ingredients together into a bowl. Should be a nice, smooth, runny consistency. Use a small brush to apply it to your face and leave to dry. After about 15-20 minutes wash off with warm water, pat dry and then rub oil over your face.

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese

Hi guys, the last time I tried to make a red velvet cake I was not as successful but these cupcakes are fantastic. When ever decorating with a sweet top I try to make sure the actual cake mixture is not too sweet so when you bite into the cupcake there’s a subtle sweetness from the cream cheese.

I even used matching red cupcake cases

On top I’ve added some sugar coloured crystals which looked great in the pictures.

2 eggs, at room temperature
60g caster sugar
20g cocoa powder
25g grounds almonds/ walnuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 avocado, mashed

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°c and line a small baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Break the chocolate into blocks and put into a heat proof bowl placed above simmering water (bain-marie).

3. In a separate bowl whisking together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, you can also use an electric mixer here.

4. Mix the cocoa, walnuts, vanilla extract and avocado into the melted chocolate and stir well. Pour this into the eggs mixture whisking until a smooth consistency.

5. Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared tray and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

2. Put all of the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

3 Ways to Naturally Detox Your Body

Hi everyone, these following tips will help to strengthen your digestive system and boost your immune system which is definitely ideal for this super cold wintery season.

1. Drink warm lemon water in the morning and throughout the day because it will help to flush out the toxins. Add cinnamon or cayenne pepper for added flavour.

2. Try dry skin brushing to support your lymphatic system (the bodies sewage system)

– use a dry brush before you have a wash
– always brush towards the heart
– begin at the feet and work your way upwards brushing in circular motions
– using circular motions over the stomach respects the direction of digestion and encourages detoxification
– afterwards have a bath or shower

3. Drinking herbal tea 🍵 (without sugar) be sure to let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes then consume hot or cold

Some teas to try:
– nettle or chamomile for inflammation
– senna, flaxseed or aloe Vera for constipation
– burdock or red clover to cleanse the blood
– milk thistle or dandelion for liver support

It’s so great to have a detox schedule that is natural and beneficial to the body, do it 4 times per year for each season to help boost the immune system 😀👍

Quick Couscous

This is a great idea for work lunches because it’s really easy to make and so filling!!

Instagram: angelicaa_b 👍

The couscous recipe is really delicious 😋 and actually quite healthy because I don’t use a dressing either I just add vegetables or salad:
– 35g couscous
– red cabbage
– grated carrot
– grated radish
– finely sliced spring onion
– chopped parsley
– pine nuts

The juice from the ingredients helps to keep it moist and you can add salt and pepper to taste ☺

Orange Butter Biscuits 🍊

I loved the lemon butter biscuits so much that I had to try them flavoured with orange zest! You could also try other fruits too like grapefruit, banana or strawberry by adding 30g – 40g of fruit to the mixture. With this recipe I added some food colouring to add a more orangey tone to the biscuits 😀

Makes 30

Ingredients
120g unsalted butter
100g caster sugar
1 large egg
1 large orange
200g plain flour
1/3 baking powder

Method

1. Beat the butter and sugar together until creamy, then add the egg and continue beating until its light and fluffy.

2. Finely zest the orange into the bowl, then add the plain flour and baking powder. Give it a big mix.

3. It will look a bit like a cake mixture now, use a heaped teaspoon to put the biscuits onto the baking tray and finally bake in the oven for 20 minutes until brown and golden.
