Paprika Chicken

Hello guys, so my other super healthy, nutritious meal is my paprika chicken. There’s such a range of ingredients in the meal and I just love how colourful it is!! Also a great meal for Sunday.

Serves 2

1 Chicken breast and thigh, remove the skin
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp tomato passata
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic clove, crushed
1/4 onion, diced
100g red cabbage, thinly sliced
30g sweetcorn
100g couscous
15g parsley

1. In a large bowl mix the paprika, paydays, puree and oil with the crushed garlic. Add the chicken breast and thigh to the bowl mixing well (add and salt and pepper), then leave to marinate at least 1 hour before cooking.

2. Prepare all of the vegetables and roughly chopped the parsley. Place the chicken on a tray and cook in the oven for 35-45 minutes, until cooked right through and slightly golden.

3. Heat oil in a pan and cook for 5 minutes until soft then add the cabbage, cook for 8 minutes but still should be crunchy. Also add the sweetcorn.

4. Put the couscous in a heat proof bowl and add boiling water, leave until all the liquid is absorbed and stir in the parsley.

5. Finally, the chicken should be cooked, place each piece on a separate plate and half the cabbage onto each plate along with the couscous!!

Enjoy 😊

Questions to ask you!

Hello everyone 😊

This post is kind of about self evaluation, do you ever just sit and evaluate yourself? Or at least try to improve yourself? If so, I’m sure these questions will help.

1. Where is you Your Hearts guiding you?

2. What do you want to say that others have left unspoken?

3. Are there any skills or talents that you will not utilising?

4. What concerns are you willing to release?

5. Have you focused on how you look rather than how you feel?

6. Have you been worrying too much about what others think of you?

❀❀ Every now and then it’s good to ask yourself these questions because the answers are very important. Ask them on a weekly basis for personal growth and happiness ❀❀

    Turmeric Face Mask

Hello again ☺ I’m not 100% sure if I’ve posted a turmeric face mask recipe before I just thought it is so relevant now that the weather is getting warmer. Nobody wants dull, lifeless looking skin and this face mask will give you the opposite: bright, glowing skin!! I know it is traditional for many cultures and it’s one of my favourites because it is homemade and the ingredients are so easy to purchase.

    1 tbsp turmeric
    1 tsp plain flour
    1/3 tsp bicarbonate soda
2 tbsp lemon juice or water

So you literally mix all the ingredients together into a bowl. Should be a nice, smooth, runny consistency. Use a small brush to apply it to your face and leave to dry. After about 15-20 minutes wash off with warm water, pat dry and then rub oil over your face.

    1st Love Lula Beauty Box

I’ve always wanted to subscribe to a beauty box and of course I wanted it to be organic. I was super happy when I found Love Lula check them out here:

Love Lula sell a range of items on their website from shampoo, makeup to body products there’s so much to choose from. The subscription box I chose was for 3 months and cost Β£37.50 which I thought was a little expensive at first but the products I received were definitely worth it. The box came around the 2nd week of the month and I was so excited to see what I got. I was quite pleased that there was no makeup in there even though it is a beauty box beauty is much more than just makeup also I don’t really wear that much.

There was between 4-5 products in each box, some were full sized and most were sample sized but not too small. Each box came with a discount code off the products in the box. So I’ve tried to find the prices of each product too if you want to see roughly how much the box equates to.

Here goes my first Love Lula beauty box…

Still working on my photography skills

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese

Hi guys, the last time I tried to make a red velvet cake I was not as successful but these cupcakes are fantastic. When ever decorating with a sweet top I try to make sure the actual cake mixture is not too sweet so when you bite into the cupcake there’s a subtle sweetness from the cream cheese.

I even used matching red cupcake cases

On top I’ve added some sugar coloured crystals which looked great in the pictures.

Why Music is So Awesome 🎢

Hello everybody, I’m going to tell you why music is good with these scientifically proven reasons…

      • Music sets off those positive feelings in your body.
      • Emotional music can be helpful when times are difficult. Why not make a sad playlist?
      • Music builds connections with friends especially when you like the same genre.
      • Music can help to reduce your anxiety, your body allows you to build a connection with the song when you listen to the words.
      • Music is AWESOME, you can literally listen to it at any time of the day loud or quiet and the best thing is to get your hair brush and dance πŸ’ƒ πŸ’ƒ

      Be mindful with food πŸ΄

Hello everyone, here are some tips to help you make better food choices.

      1. Keep a food diary and make a note of everything you eat. This is a great idea because it allows you to go back and see why you ate certain foods and particular times in Life. Were you emotionally eating?

      2. Do food swaps, for example switch the chocolate bar for some peanuts or replace the packet of crisps for popcorn and slowly incorporate more fruits into your day.

      3. Be you eat a snack do something else, drink a cup of water… Are you still hungry? Also try reading, going for a walk or listening to music to distract the mind.

Always ask yourself (especially when snacking) ‘am I hungry?’ The main aim is always to be mindful before eating and making sure you actually enjoy the food rather than just biting and chewing πŸ‘

      World Health Day! πŸ˜

It’s today, 7th April 2017. Sponsored by World Health Organisation (WHO) every year they celebrate a global health awareness. I think it can be a taboo subject because not many people want to discuss these topics or maybe they don’t know how to… Either way I think it is very important to raise awareness.

The theme this year is depression, which is the leading cause of ill health and disability across the world, at worst can lead to suicide.

Share this with a friend and try to raise awareness also if you ever feel like you have mental health issues (depression) please speak to someone because it will make a difference.
