Orange Butter Biscuits 🍊

I loved the lemon butter biscuits so much that I had to try them flavoured with orange zest! You could also try other fruits too like grapefruit, banana or strawberry by adding 30g – 40g of fruit to the mixture. With this recipe I added some food colouring to add a more orangey tone to the biscuits πŸ˜€

Makes 30

Ingredients
120g unsalted butter
100g caster sugar
1 large egg
1 large orange
200g plain flour
1/3 baking powder

Method

1. Beat the butter and sugar together until creamy, then add the egg and continue beating until its light and fluffy.

2. Finely zest the orange into the bowl, then add the plain flour and baking powder. Give it a big mix.

3. It will look a bit like a cake mixture now, use a heaped teaspoon to put the biscuits onto the baking tray and finally bake in the oven for 20 minutes until brown and golden.

The Heart Chakra β™₯Β

The heart chakra (Anahata) is our energy point of compassion and love 😍. It is physically located just behind the heart area and this chakra is very powerful when used as a focus point for meditation.

When we meditate out heart chakra, it gives us the chance to blossom our awareness to personal and physical forms of love, not only that but the universal love and the true acceptance of self love.

The heart chakra embraces all things related to love and anyone who focuses their meditation on this will benefit from exploring this energy.

Rosewater 🌹

Rosewater promotes healthier hair growth and improves blood circulation within the scalp therefore nourishing and strengthening your hair follicles. Rosewater can be used to treat inflammation around the scalp and is thought to have therapeutic properties.

  • Rosewater alone can be used for a after shampoo rinse
  • Rosewater and glycerine can be used for an after shampoo rinse instead of conditioner

Massage 2 handfuls of either liquids into your hair and scalp, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 20 minutes before washing out.

Tips for the best sleep ever 😴

Sleeping arrangements have changed slightly for me at home and there’s a few things I actually miss about sleeping in my own room, I was just sitting on the sofa and thought of a few things that will ensure you get the best sleep ever!!

1. Try not to eat at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed, because your body will be resting and won’t get the chance to digest the food properly.

2. Have a nice hot drink before bed preferably a herbal drink, my favourite is chamomile (though I don’t drink it every night).

3. Write down your thoughts or just hit down a few points and be reflective, then write down 3 things you want to achieve tomorrow for example:

– do some exam revision
– complete a home workout
– find a work placement

4. Sleep in your favourite pyjamas and on fresh clean sheets, I think it’ll just make you feel better overall.

5. Have a teddy in your bed, it may seem childish but it made us all happy as children so why not do it now!
